Taconic Boys, Lenox Girls Earn Dual Wins

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Josh Stevens won the shot put and discus to lead the Taconic track and field team to a dual meet win over Lenox in a meet that started last Wednesday and concluded on Monday.

 

Stevens also placed second in the javelin by a mere 3 inches behind winner Jack Cooney of Lenox (104-2).

 

Taconic racked up points in the sprints, where the Thunder earned 1-2-3 sweeps in the 100 meters and 200 meters behind wins from Anthony Trapani and Matthew McIntosh.

 

Lenox’s Ian Bridges was a triple winner, taking first in the 400, long jump and triple jump.

 

The Millionaires won the girls meet by a comfortable 29-point margin.

 

Lenox dominated the distances with wins by Alice Culver in the 800 and 1600 to highlight 1-2-3 Lenox sweeps in those events and the 1600, where Genevieve Collins placed first.

 

Collins also won the discus.

 

Lenox’s Binxy MacQueen swept the 100 and 200.

 

Taconic’s Tiffin Martin took the 100 hurdles and shot put. Rue Starsja also was a double-winner for the Thunder, placing first in the 400 hurdles and long jump.
