Mount Greylock Girls, Boys Stay Unbeaten

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Maggie Nichols swept the 100 and 200 on Saturday at Monument Mountain to lead the Mount Greylock girls track and field team to a dual meet win over Lenox.

 

The Mount Greylock girls also swept the relays in remaining undefeated this spring.

 

Lenox’s girls beat Mount Everett in their dual, and Taconic toppled Mount Everett.

 

The same three teams earned dual wins in the boys meet.

 

William Apotsos was a double winner for the Mount Greylock boys, taking the 110 hurdles and triple jump.

 

In the throws, the Mounties’ Judge Martin and Jenner Kittle each won two events. Martin won the shot put and tied his teammate in the discus. Kittle won the javelin.

 

Taconic was led by Elijah Harewood, the day’s only triple winner with victories in the 200 meters, high jump and long jump.

 

The day’s best finish came in the boys 3200 meters.

 

Lenox’s Cormack Mathews outleaned his teammate Samuel Geller to win the event by .13 seconds. Taconic’s Noah Krants was just four one-hundredths of a second behind Geller to finish third.
