Drury Golfers Get First Win

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The best team in Berkshire County without a win finally has one.

 

The Drury golf team, which suffered through two tie-breakers and a one-stroke decision in its first five matches, earned a 180-189 win over Monument Mountain on Thursday at Wyantenuck Country Club.

 

Nick Bator was low for the Blue Devils with a 5-over round of 40 on the front nine. Bator birdied the 555-yard, par-5 fifth hole.

 

Monument's Dylan Buffoni earned medalist honors with a 3-over 38 that included a birdie on the 238-yard, par-3 second hole.

 

Also scoring for Drury were Nick Boulger (44), Jude Collins (47) and Chad Lawrence (49).

 

Backing up Buffoni for the Spartans were Aaron Coons (46), Matthew Iemolini (52) and Lexi Shumsky (53).

 

Drury (1-5) hosts Mount Everett on Monday at Stamford Valley Golf Course in Stamford, Vt.
