Taconic Bowlers Knock Off Lee

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Abby Bliss and Luzis Brown Thursday led the Taconic High bowling team to a 2-1 win over Lee as the Thunder dealt the Wildcats their first loss of the season.
 
Lee came into the match a perfect 9-0 through the first three meets of the season.
 
Taconic decisively won the first of the team's two games by a score of 779-582. Lee came back to edge the Thunder, 639-633, in the second game to set up a winner-take-all best-of-3 Baker format match, which Taconic won, 428-402.
 
Bliss rolled a 148 that was the second-best score among the league's girls at the meet and a 256 two-game series that also was second. Brown's 193 game was the fourth-best score among the boys. Kyla Croshier rolled a 140 game and 243 series for the Thunder.
 
Lee's Devyn Fillio had the day's best score (162) and series (295) among the girls.
 
The win moved Taconic into second place in the league standings.
 
Just behind the Thunder is Monument Mountain, which earned a 3-0 win on Thursday.
 
Mason Bailey and Noah Walker led the Spartans to victory.
 
Bailey had a 214 game and 388 series that both were second in the league at the meet. Walker was just behind him with a 200 game and 345 series.
 
In the day's other varsity match, Drury earned its second 2-1 win of the year, bowling past Pittsfield behind Zachary Mongeon, who recorded the top game (224) and top series (442) of the afternoon at K&M Bowling.
