Desilets, Pacheco Win at Berkshire County Individuals

DALTON, Mass. -- Monument Mountain's Amelia Desilets and Everett Pacheco each placed first in Saturday's Berkshire County Individuals meet at Wahconah Regional High School.

 

Desilets crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 50 seconds, setting a mile pace of 6:23, to finish 36 seconds ahead of the field.

 

Mount Greylock's Josephine Bay placed second in 20:26 to lead the Mounties to a first place finish in the team standings.

 

Mount Greylock put five runners in the top 11 positions.

 

Riley Dickinson in sixth and Katherine Goss, Elly Wilkinson and Vera DeJong rounded out the scoring for the Mounties, who finished with 38 points, 11 ahead of runner-up Monument Mountain.

 

Mount Greylock's boys edged Lenox by just one point for first place in the team standings.

 

Rafa Mellow-Bartels was the Mounties' top finisher, placing third overall behind Pacheco (16:35) and Lenox's Ben Harwood (16:39).

 

Mount Greylock clinched the boys title when Finnegan Voisin crossed the line in 14th place, two spots ahead of Lenox's fifth scorer, Max Mozian.

 

The county's teams will compete in the Division All-State Qualifier at the Wrentham Dvelopment Center on Nov. 9.
