Lenox Girls' Depth Prevails in Battle at Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – The Lenox girls cross country team Wednesday placed four runners in the top six as they overcame a 1-2 finish for host Monument Mountain to earn a 27-28 dual meet win.
 
Elyssa Scrimo, Gianna Love, Nora Schoeny and Leah Basnet placed second through sixth, respectively, and Halle Koenig rounded out the scoring for the Millionaires, placing 10th overall and ninth in the battle between the two teams.
 
Monument Mountain’s  Amelia Desilets and Rae Geddes again took the top two individual finishes. Desilets crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 43 seconds, more than a minute ahead of the field.
 
The Spartans did pick up a pair of dual meet wins against Taconic and Lee in the girls race. Lenox went 4-0.
 
The Thunder earned a narrow 27-30 win behind Shelby Tart, who placed 14th overall.
 
Lenox’s boys matched their girls team with a 4-0 head-to-head record.
 
Ben Harwood, Samuel Gellar and Owen Ames led the Millionaires, finishing in third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.
 
The top boy in the field at Monument Mountain was Everett Pacheco of the host Spartans, who finished in 16:37, 39 seconds ahead of runner-up Cohen Zahn of Pittsfield.
 
Taconic, which went 3-1 in dual meets, was led by Quinn Ives and Collin Norton, who placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
