PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield High girls soccer team Thursday presented a check for $3,060 to the Jake Hescock Win the Day Foundation in a ceremony in the school's lobby.

The team easily surpassed its goal of $2,000 from a "PK-a-thon" event it held at Clapp Park earlier this fall.

The high school student-athletes presented the check to Carey Hescock, Jake's mother.

"Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come meet with us and thank you for providing us with the opportunity that you have," PHS girls soccer captain Madison Stetz told Hescock. "To be a part of something so beautiful and important. You impacted our lives in such a positive way and I know I can speak for everyone when I say we will never forget you, your cause, or Jake.

"We love you and the Win the Day Foundation and you will always and forever have a home under the dome here at Pittsfield high, especially with your Lady Generals."

The team would like to thank all of the positive support we received to support The Jake Hescock Win The Day Foundation.
