GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — On Monday, the Hoosac Valley girls' soccer team just missed out on its first win against a North Division team this year, losing to undefeated Pittsfield, 2-1. The Hurricanes accomplished that feat three days later, however, receiving goals from three different players to earn a 3-2 victory at Monument Mountain.

Hoosac (4-2) got off a quick start three minutes into the game when freshman Jasmine Knapp scored her first goal of the season on a pass from senior Danielle Beauchemin. The score remained the same until early in the second half, when the Spartans' tied the match on a Kat Lastar tally three minutes after the break.

Blair Mahar's squad quickly regained control four minutes later, though, when sophomore Marissa Felter scored unassisted. Beauchemin then helped put the game away, setting up junior Megan Rodowicz for her second assist of the game in the 50th minute. Monument (2-4) got a goal back on a Emma Carchedi strike three minutes later, but the hosts were unable to net the equalizer against Hurricanes' goalie Megan Richardson, who finished the game with eight saves.

Hoosac returns to action on Monday with a home game against Lee at 4:15 p.m.
