DALTON, Mass. – Ninth-grader Caprese Conyers scored to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Wahconah on Wednesday night.

Madison Stetz set up the game-winner for the Generals, who snapped a four-game losing skid.

Harolyn Castillo made 14 saves to earn her third shutout this season in goal for Pittsfield, which finishes the regular season at 3-12-1.

“"We played our best game of the season tonight,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Molly Pope created so many opportunities for us with her tenacity on the ball and our defense was stellar. Cari Sherman, Bri'Jai Ellerbee, Brooke Wong, Ava Palmer and Kyana Smith – they played their positions perfectly with a great deal of determination. And Harolyn was key, once again, in goal. I truly believe she is the best goalie in our league.”

Edrie Collins stopped five shots for Wahconah.

Pittsfield learns Friday whether the win was enough to slip past Wahconah (3-12-1) for the eighth seed in the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
