Brazeau Scores Game-Winner as McCann Tech Wins Opener

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Sofia Francesconi made 22 saves Tuesday to backstop the McCann Tech girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Smith Vocational in the Hornets' season opener.

 

Faith Brazeau scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick from Emily Feder as first-year coach Aubrey Thurston picked up her first win at her alma mater.

 

"Sophie Reid, Shaylee Lawson, and Svea Lawson played amazing defense which held us in the game," Thurston said.

 

McCann Tech (1-0) travels to play Putnam Vocational on Thursday.
