Bailey Leads McCann Tech Boys in Shutout of Hoosac Valley

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Matt Bailey had a goal and an assist, and Andrew Levesque stopped five shots to lead the McCann Tech boys soccer team to a 3-0 win over Hoosac Valley on Wednesday.

 

Justin Chen scored the game-winner, heading in a cross from Bailey in the first half.

 

Bailey scored on a free kick, and Connor Griswold scored on a shot from 30 yards out after half-time.

 

“I am very impressed with how well we played defensively today,” McCann Tech coach John Bresett said. “Even though our transition play was a bit sloppy, we managed to make up for it by winning most of the 50-50 balls and using that to counter.”

 

McCann Tech (5-3) hosts Pioneer Valley Christian on Friday.

 

Hoosac Valley (0-5-2) hosts Wahconah on Saturday.
