Hurricanes Hit Hard by Potent Lenox Attack
ADAMS, Mass. -- The Lenox boys' soccer team came out swinging in its game against Hoosac Valley on Tuesday. The Millionaires earned a 13-0 advantage in shots in the first half and scored three goals before halftime on their way to a 5-1 road win at Renfrew Field.Chris Considine scored on a penalty kick and had an assist for Lenox, which held a 23-6 advantage in shots for the game. Senior Chris Stefanik made sure Hoosac (0-2) wasn't shut out, however, scoring off of a pass from sophomore Matt Waltermire in the 69th minute of play.
Waltermire and senior defender Seth Kuta did a good job on the defensive end, but junior keeper Tom Galisa still had a very busy day in net. Galisa made 18 saves overall, and the 'Canes seem to tighten up things as the game went along. After being outshot 13-0 in the first half, Hoosac trimmed that margin down to just 10-6 in the second half.
The Hurricanes will try for their first win on Friday afternoon, when they play at Mount Greylock at 4 p.m.
