ADAMS, Mass. — St. Joe's used a punishing ground attack to beat Hoosac 28-0 on Saturday afternoon at Hoosac Valley High School.  The Crusaders (1-1) sustained long drives that kept Hoosac's offense off the field and wore down the Hurricane (1-1) defense.

After a weak game versus Wahconah last week, the Crusaders' senior running back Lavante Wiggins ran with purpose, amassing 182 rushing yards and a touchdown.  St. Joe quaterback Jonny Bianchi turned in a solid performance for his team, throwing a nine-yard touchdown pass to senior Zack Neary and rushing for another.

The Hurricanes suffered a big loss in first quarter when senior captain Zach O'Neill left the game with an apparent shoulder injury. O'Neill did not return to the game and his absence made it even tougher for Hoosac to compete as he plays a big part of both their lines, starting at center and defensive end.

St. Joe will look to build on their victory when they travel to Easthampton (1-1) on Sunday for a 1:30 p.m. game.  Hoosac will look to get back on track when they host Monument (0-2) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
