Margaret "Jane" Senecal, 93

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret “Jane” Senecal, age 93 of Clarksburg MA. Jane passed away peacefully on March 4,2025. She was born on March 24,1931 to the late John and Mabel Murphy. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Senecal with whom she shared 61 years. She is survived by her children: Marcia Young of Scottsdale Arizona, Steven and Michael Senecal of Stamford Vermont. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren as well as three siblings: Harriet Meiklejohn, Jack Murphy, and Mary Shephard.

Jane began her career at the age of 18 at New England Bell telephone company where she worked for many years and retired at the age of 63 from AT&T. Throughout her career, she made many lifelong friends and greatly valued the camaraderie with her coworkers.

An avid reader, Jane shared her love of books with those around her often-visiting bookstores with her family members and enjoyed spirited conversations with them about books read and new purchases made. She also spent countless hours in her yard, tending to her cherished blueberry patch, mowing, and pruning which brought her great joy. Jane loved to travel and after she retired, she was fortunate to do so frequently, often with her family by her side, creating lasting memories on each journey.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date. The family would like to thank the North Adams Public library for making sure that Jane always had a current selection of books to read, as well as the wonderful in-home caregivers she had in the last years of her life. She loved hearing about their lives and stories and sharing her advice! Lastly, we want to thank hospice for providing her with a peaceful journey in the end.
