Arlene C. Rice, 88

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mrs. Arlene C. (Cote) Rice, 88, of Adams, died on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Danielson, CT, on May 19, 1936, a daughter of the late David and Delia (Gileau) Cote. She attended schools in Connecticut and graduated from Killingly High School.

Mrs. Rice was primarily a homemaker, in her earlier years she worked for Sears, Aetna Insurance and the town of Savoy as the Tax Collector.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and baking. She had a love for all animals but most of all she loved the time she spent with family.

Her husband, Harold E. Rice, whom she married on November 25, 1982, died on October 25, 2002.

She is survived by six sons, David Bousquet (Tammy), Mark Bousquet, Roger Rice (Ivy), Joseph Rice (Sharon), Fred Rice (Kathie) and Tracy Rice (Lisa); eight daughters, Joyce Limberger (John), Dawn Krutiak (Richard), Elaine Rice, Jean Rice, Marlene Rice (Michael), Kelly Rice, Terri Bird (Al) and Paula Ziemlak (Steve); twenty four grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Timothy Rice. By two brothers, Adelaide and Roger Cote and by her sister Doris Madore.

Funeral services and burial will be private for the family. There are no calling hours.
