Bradley A. Baker, 91

LENOX, Mass. —  

Mr. Bradley Alan Baker, 91, of Lenox, died on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the presence of family, at his son’s home in Middlefield.

He was born in Corry, PA on April 3, 1933, a son of the late Ralph and Margaret (Trill) Baker. He attended schools in Corry and graduated from the Corry High School.

Mr. Baker was a military veteran, having served with in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany serving as an Aircraft Mechanic.

Mr. Baker last worked as a mechanical engineer for Cavalero Plastics in Pittsfield until retiring. Earlier Previously, he had worked for General Electric Co., Pittsfield and had owned and operated the former Baker’s Service Center on Tyler Street in Pittsfield.

He was a member of the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene in Dalton. He enjoyed sailing, square dancing, woodworking and camping.

His wife, the former Joan K. Wurst, whom he married on December 26, 1955, died on April 20, 2022.

He is survived by two sons, David Baker and his wife, Susan LeBourdais, of Pittsfield and Steven Baker and his wife, Amy, of Middlefield; his daughter Kathleen Hoy and her husband, Jeffrey, of Piney Flats, TN; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Baker of Fitzwilliam, NH; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Baker; his granddaughter, Amanda Baker; two brothers, William and Robert Baker; and by his sister, Mary Baker.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 10:00 A.M. at the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene, 165 North St., Dalton, with calling hours beginning at the church at 9 a.m.

Burial will follow at the Richmond Center Cemetery in Richmond.

So sorry to hear of Brads passing, his kind and gentle spirit will be missed. We have been in the Gideon Ministry with Brad meeting once per month, distributing many bibles in hospitals, motels and on sidewalks. Brad and Joan’s faith and assurance of salvation was unwavering.
