Harold "Joe" Scarbo Jr., 81

ADAMS, Mass. —  Harold “Joe” Scarbo Jr., 81 of Adams, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, surrounded by his Loving family.

Born in Adams on June 16, 1941, son of the late Harold and Charlette Chittenden Scarbo he was a graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. Soon after graduating he joined the U S Airforce serving six years in the military part of which was in Okinawa. He returned to Adams an became employed for ALADCO in Adams for several years, and then as a truck driver for Kraft Foods of NY and where he retired. Joe was also a bartender for years at local establishments. Joe was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. He was a twenty year member of the Adams Alerts Volunteer Fire Dept, a member of the Prudential Committee, Adams Lodge of Elks and the Mountain Club.

His wife the former Joanne Szydlo, whom he married on August 13, 1966, died September 1, 2012. He is survived by two daughters, Penny Tarsa (Randy Morehouse) of Savoy, Brenda Rumbult (Robert) of Cheshire. Four grandchildren, Adam Tarsa, Chelsea Bethoney (Adam), Katelynn Pitoniak (Nathan), Amber Iacuessa, and two great grandchildren, Charles Pitoniak, Helena Bethoney.

A liturgy of Christian Burial for Joe will take place Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11AM in Notre Dame Church in Adams, burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220 will be Thursday from 4 to 6PM. Donations in his memory can be made to the Adams Ambulance in care of the funeral home.
