William J. Eichorn, Sr., 78

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. William J. Eichorn, Sr., “Big Guy”, 78, of Adams, died on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Williamstown Commons surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Adams on November 20, 1943, a son of the late Charles and Doris (Ryan) Eichorn. He attended schools in Adams.

Mr. Eichorn worked for many years as the PCC Operator for Specialty Minerals until his retirement. Prior, he had worked in the same capacity for its predecessor, Pfizer.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He is survived by his wife, the former Janet R. Bissaillon, whom he married on February 27, 1965; two sons, William J. Eichorn, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Agawam and Mark Eichorn and his wife Laurie of North Adams; four grandchildren, Aliyha, Hannah, Emilee and Christopher Eichorn and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Charles Eichorn and by his sister Patricia Dodge.

The family would like to thank the staff of Williamstown Commons and Hospice Care in the Berkshires for the wonderful care they provided to Bill.

Funeral services and burial are private for the family. There are no calling hours.
