Julia Morin, 99

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Julia A. Morin, 99, passed away on July 9, 2022, after a brief convalescence at Williamstown Commons. She was born July 4, 1923, in Providence, RI, and was raised in North Adams, MA, where she lived her entire life. She was the daughter of Carl and Anna (Nicholas) Morin, who were from Beirut, Lebanon.

Julia attended local public schools, and was employed at Sprague Electric Company until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Frances of Assisi Church. Julia enjoyed life, family, and children, and was very active. In her younger days, Julia loved to dance, especially the polka and the jitterbug. She was very light on her feet. She took many bus trips to the casinos, and loved going out to play BINGO with her sisters, Lillian and Josephine. Julia was an avid Boston Red Sox baseball fan, and would travel to Fenway Park with friends whenever she had the chance to watch her favorite player, Ted Williams. She had a collection of Ted Williams biographies that she quoted from when anyone mentioned his name. Julia loved family gatherings. She was an excellent cook, with Lebanese cuisine being her specialty.

Although Julia was never married, or had any children, she was like a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Survivors include her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian Colo, Josephine Johnson, and Mamie Morin; seven brothers, Richard Morin, Michael Morin, Gouch Morin, Joseph Morin, John Morin, Edward Morin, and Houais Morin; and a step-brother Anthony (Tony) Morin.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. At Julia’s request, her body will be donated to the Harvard Medical School Anatomical Gifts Program in Boston. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Jude Children’s Hospital through Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247
