Shirley Martin, 90

Shirley Westcott (Farnum) Martin, 90 of North Adams died Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Pittsfield n July 8, 1931 a daughter of the late Wilson Farnum and Dorothy (Westcott) Farnum Polmatier.

She attended schools in South Egremont and graduated from Coxsackie Athens High School in New York. Shirley was employed for many years at Brightwater Paper Co. and Hunter Outdoor Products as a secretary. She later worked for BFAIR.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of North Adams, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and puzzles. Her husband, James Frederick "Fred" Martin died in 1981. Survivors include daughter Kathleen Cheryl Giroux of North Adams, MA., son Allen Wayne Martin (Jackie Coby) of Phoenix , AZ., grandchildren Robert Giroux, Cheryl Phillips (Billie) and Kevin Martin. She also leaves great-grandchildren Michael Phillips (Ana), Brittany Phillips, Kasem Martin, great- great-grandchild Estrella Phillips. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Stephen Giroux.

Funeral Services will take place Saturday , July 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of North Adams. Burial will take place at a later date. A calling hour will take place Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. My deepest sympathy in your time of loss. I worked briefly with your mom at Humter Outdoor a half century ago, or so it seems. I'm sure she'll be missed but I'm also sure y'all have plenty of fond memories with her and your dad. Cherish them and let them be your strength through this turbulence.
