Frederick S. Rynkowski, 86

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Frederick S. Rynkowski, 86, of Adams, died Friday, May 13, 2022, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams on January 21, 1936, a son of the late Walter and Anna (Bator) Rynkowski and attended Adams schools. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Air Force from 1954 until his Honorable Discharge in 1957.

Fred worked as a yard man at Pfizer, Inc. in Adams until retiring on Nov. 1, 1997 after 31 years of service. He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II in Adams, where he was active in parish activities and served as an acolyte for funerals and Masses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and metal detecting.

His first wife, the former Alice E. Elliott, died on June 24, 1978.

He is survived by his wife, the former Joan M. (Pitroff) Pitrovich, whom he married on June 25, 1983; a stepson, Daniel Pitrovich and his wife, Misty, of Stevens, PA; a stepdaughter, Tina Schneider and her husband, Joe, of Plainfield; a brother, Edwin Rynkowski of Adams; four grandchildren, including Brittany Pitrovich, Robert Pitrovich and his wife, Sarah; Ashley Schneider and her fiancée, James Schmidt, and Justin Schneider; a great granddaughter, Madeline, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 4th, at 4:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will be held privately. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 3:00 PM until the start of the funeral. The family requests that all attending the services wear a face mask while inside the funeral home.

It’s been many years but R.I.P. “Uncle Fred”. Very kind man, I remember his kindness to my Dad Frank Rynkowski and my Mom Marjorie.
