FOUNDATIONS OF DRAWING FOR LEE TEENS AND TWEENS

Foundations of Drawing (for Teens and Tweens) With Instructor: Lucie Castaldo from the Berkshire Art Center

Start Date: May 2, 2025 End Date: June 6, 2025
There will be no class on 5/16
Location: Community Room of the First Congregational Church of Lee, UCC, 25 Park Place,

This class will focus on drawing from observation, starting with still life and progressing to figure drawing from a live model. You’ll learn how to construct three-dimensional objects, understand proportion and perspective, and explore dramatic shading techniques using both pencils and charcoal. Join this supportive environment to add more tools to your drawing skills toolbox!

Open to 5th-12th graders who live in Lee or go to school in Lee.

Sponsored by the Lee Youth Commission. All materials will be provided for this class.

"LUCKY STIFF" A BCC PLAYERS PRODUCTION
Pittsfield, 7:00pm

The Berkshire Community College (BCC) Players will be performing “Lucky Stiff,” the musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the weekends of May 2 and May 9. General admission is $15, with discounts for BCC employers, students, alumni and seniors. BCC Alum Joseph Sicotte directs the show.

“Lucky Stiff” is a musical farce in which a British shoe salesman inherits six million dollars from a dead uncle. There's only one catch: To get the money, he must take the dead body, prop it in a wheelchair and take it on one last spree to Monte Carlo. Chaos ensues.

Big Yellow Taxi, New England’s premier Joni Mitchell tribute band, brings Joni’s extraordinary music to life. From her early folk roots to pop masterpieces and jazz-inspired compositions, Big Yellow Taxi immerses audiences in the emotional depth and brilliance of Joni’s work.

Led by vocalist Teresa Lorenço, whose expressive voice captures Joni’s sweet, husky and bell-like tones, the band delivers an intimate journey through Joni’s best-loved songs. The performance transcends mere tribute, offering a genuine experience of Joni’s musical genius that leaves audiences entertained, moved and inspired.

Formed in 2021 and based in Northampton, MA, Big Yellow Taxi also features John Cabán on guitars, Robert Sherwood on keyboards, Annie Patterson on vocals and percussion, Joe Fitzpatrick on drums, and Rich Cahillane on bass.
