Pittsfield Police Make Arrest In Zuke's Robbery
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for the robbery of Zuke's Soups and Variety.
Ivy Rogers of Pittsfield is being charged with larceny from a person in connection to a robbery of the West Street store on Dec. 10.
According to police, at approximately 5 p.m. a white, heavy set, woman standing about 5'8'' and wearing dark a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, gloves, and a scarf over her mouth took an undisclosed amount of cash from the store. The store clerk was not hurt and the suspect fled down West Street.
Rogers was arrested Wednesday and appeared in district court.
The Zuke's robbery was one of three incidents in December. Police issued an advisory last week asking for information on the robberies.
The first one occurred on Friday, Dec. 4 shortly before 8 p.m. Police say a delivery driver for Empire Pizza was robbed at gunpoint on Parker Street.' The suspect is described as a black male, approximately six-feet tall, medium build, in his early 20s and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. An undisclosed amount of cash and credit card receipts were take and the driver was not hurt. The suspect then fled down Parker Street toward Springside Avenue and toward Plunkett Street.
On Tuesday, Dec. 8, shortly before midnight the Gulf Station on Wahconah Street was robbed at gunpoint. In this robbery there were two suspects both described as young males of an unknown race. One was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored handkerchief, jeans, black shoes, and red or pink colored gloves. The other was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with red or pink sweatpants and similarly colored gloves. The suspects took tobacco products and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then took off through the Pittsfield Cemetery.
