Pittsfield Masked Robber Sentenced To 15 Years in Prison

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A city man was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in state prison on Monday after a jury found him guilty for three masked robberies.
Raheem Garrett, 28, was found guilty by a jury in Berkshire Superior Court Monday on three counts of armed robbery while masked. He was found not guilty on two other counts of armed robbery while masked and not guilty on two counts of armed assault with intent to rob, two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and attempt to commit a crime.
Garrett was found to have committed three robberies in Pittsfield between September 1, 2011 and November 22, 2011.
Garrett and 21-year-old Laura Methe were both charged with a slew of robberies - seven counts in total - after being arrested last November fleeing the scene of a robbery at Domino's Pizza on Elm Street.
An investigation linked evidence from that robbery to one at another Domino's two months earlier and one at Convenience Plus that October. Police also linked the two suspects to robberies at Dunkin Donuts and Lipton Mart last November. Methe is currently under house arrest and testified in the case.
