Dalton Little Leaguers Knock Off Adams-Cheshire

ADAMS, Mass. -- Brandon Roughley hit a two-run home run and a double to lead the Dalton 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars to a 13-0 win over Adams-Cheshire in the District 1 tournament on Wednesday evening.

Chad Howes pitched four innings of shutout ball before leaving the game to save himself for future games this week as Dalton stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament and ended Adams-Cheshire's run.

Brandon's brother Auggie hit a three-run homer in the first inning to get Dalton a lead, and it never looked back.

Nate Zink and Kevin Huban each had two hits for Dalton, who moves on to play Pittsfield North on Thursday in a double-header that features Pittsfield South and Great Barrington in the winners' bracket.

Zach Swistak broke up Dalton's no-hit bid with a single in the fifth inning.
