Pittsfield Cracking Down on ATV Use In Parks
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city is going to crack down on illegal use of motorized vehicles in public parks.
The city's Board of Park Commissioners released a statement Monday saying it has received numerous complaints of off-road vehicles being used in parks. The Police Department is "aware of this growing problem and will be strictly enforcing" the regulation.
Unauthorized use of off-road vehicles in city parks is punishable with a $200 fine and maybe more if "malicious damage" occurs.
Residents are also asked to contact the Police Department if they see off-road vehicles - "especially dirt bikes" - operating in city parks.
