Superior Court Briefs: March 6 - March 7
Cases heard before Judge John Agostini on Thursday, March 6.
James Mullen, 23, of Pittsfield pleaded guilty to five counts of larceny over $250 from a person 60 years of age or older, five counts of receiving stolen property over $250, three counts of forgery, three counts of uttering, two counts of breaking and entering a building in the daytime and single counts of larceny from a person over 65, attempt to commit a crime, misleading an officer and furnishing a false name to a police officer.
He was sentenced to two years at the Berkshire County House of Correction on a single count of receiving stolen property over $250. He was placed on four years probation on the other charges.
The incident occurred in Pittsfield and North Adams between August 3, 2012 and April 4, 2013. A single count of common and notorious thief was dismissed by the state.

Joshua Desnoyers, 22, of Pittsfield pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and batter and single counts of resisting arrest and armed robbery.
He was ordered to serve concurrent three to four years at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution on the armed robbery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. He was given concurrent time at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the other charges.
Desnoyers used a pit bill to take a backpack from a 22-year-old man and a 30-year-old man was assaulted during the robbery. The incident happened in Pittsfield on September 27, 2013.
