DANBURY, Conn. – Taconic graduate Sam Sherman went 3-for-4 on Saturday night to help the North Adams SteepleCats beat the Danbury, Conn., Westerners, 8-3, in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
 
Jake Kulikowski and Luke Mistone each homered, and Jayder Raifstanger (Monument Mountain) and Derek Paris (Mount Greylock) each scored a run for the SteepleCats.
 
Tanner Duke earned the win on the mound, starting and going six innings. Duke struck out 10 and allowed two runs.
 
North Adams (8-10) Sunday travels to Rhode Island to face Ocean State.

SteepleCats Jump Ahead Early, Top Blue Sox

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Aedan Anderson hit a three-run home run in a five-run second inning to propel the North Adams SteepleCats Monday to a 9-2 win over the Valley Blue Sox.
 
Antonio Morales went 3-for-5 in a 12-hit attack for the SteepleCats, who jumped out to a 9-0 lead through four innings.
 
Sam Sherman was 1-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run for North Adams.
 
Joseph Trombley struck out five in six innings of work to get the win on the mound.
 
North Adams (8-10) hosts Bristol, Conn., on Tuesday.
