SALISBURY, Md. – Audrina Maloney went 2-for-2 with three RBIs Monday as the Mass Destruction tied the New Jersey Sparks, 7-7, in the opener of the USSSA Eastern Championship.
Mia Arpante struck out a pair and allowed just three earned runs over four innings in a complete-game effort in a game stopped by the tournament’s time rule.
Elena Iovieno, Sadie Aitken and Ella Bassi each had a hit for Mass Destruction.
The travel team continues play in the tournament’s 16U B division on Tuesday with three games, starting with a matchup with the Elkridge, Md., Hurricanes at 9:30 a.m.
