Pittsfield Police Investigating July 4 Hit and Run

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police are investigating a July 4 hit and run that left a woman severly injured.
 
According to a police report, on July 4, 2023, at approximately 10:03 P.M., the Pittsfield Police Department, Pittsfield Fire Department and County Ambulance, were dispatched to the area of 194 Second St for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle, which had left the scene. 
 
As a result of the initial investigation, it was determined that a southbound Ford F-150 pickup, being operated by 65 year old Jeffrey Miles, of Pittsfield, struck 33 year old Shaquanna Turnage, also of Pittsfield, as she was walking southbound in the roadway. 
 
Miles was not injured, however Turnage suffered severe injuries and was later transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, for further medical treatment. 
 
Charges are pending against Miles and the accident is still under investigation by the Pittsfield Police Traffic Unit. Anyone with any information related to this accident is asked to contact Officer David Hallas at (413)-448-9700 Ext. 560

Middleboro Edges Post 68 Juniors at State Tourney

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. – Brady Bouldry struck out nine and allowed three hits Saturday to lead the Middleboro Post 64 Juniors to a 2-0 win over Pittsfield Post 68 at the American Legion State Tournament.
 
Bouldry went the distance on the mound, walking two, to earn the tournament hosts a date with Swampscott Post 57 on Sunday night in the winners’ bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
 
Gavin O’Donnell tripled, and Ethan O’Donnell and Jason Codey each had a hit for Pittsfield.
 
The O’Donnell brothers also split time on the mound, striking out eight, walking two and allowing one earned run.
 
Post 68 plays Sandwich Post 188 on Sunday at 1 p.m.
