Adams Theater Welcomes Misty Blues

ADAMS, Mass. —The Adams Theater welcomes Misty Blues on May 27 as part of their 2023 Spring/Summer WIP Series. 
 
The critically acclaimed band Misty Blues, led by Gina Coleman, have toured all over the U.S. and Canada, but make their homes here in the Berkshires.
 
A 2019 International Blues Challenge finalist, Misty Blues is led by lead singer/band founder Gina Coleman. The band is based out of Berkshire County, Massachusetts playing original and traditional blues with hints of jazz, soul, funk and tent revival gospel since 1999. 
 
The band has recorded with Eric Gales, Charles Neville and Joe Louis Walker, and opened for contemporary blues artists like Tab Benoit, James Montgomery, John Primer, Roomful Of Blues, Albert Cummings and Michael Powers. Misty Blues performs extensively throughout New England and has toured the continental U.S. and Canada. The band has been nominated for a few Independent Blues Music Awards and their original recordings have broad international airplay. They have released 12 albums to date and will release their 13th album in the upcoming few months.

Tickets for the show start at $25 and can be purchased at www.adamstheater.org.
 
In-Person Box Office Hours: The theater is holding new in-person box office hours for community members who would like to buy tickets. Box office hours will take place Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. at 27 Park Street.
 
Buy a ticket, give a ticket: All local students 17 and under can attend at least one Adams Theater show for FREE with pre-registration (email info@adamstheater.org). Theater patrons can help pay it forward by purchasing a Community Ticket in addition to their own.

BArT Enrollment Information Session

ADAMS, Mass. —The Berkshire Arts and Technology (BArT) Charter Public School will host an enrollment information session on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 2:15 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at BArT (1 Commercial Street, Adams, MA) for current-year transfers and new students starting in the fall.

Families interested in enrolling at BArT are invited to attend. A Spanish translator will be in attendance.

Apply by Jan. 7 at noon for an immediate seat in grades 6, 9, or 10.
Apply by Feb. 25 to be included in the primary lottery for new students in grades 6 through 10 for the 2025-26 school year.

The enrollment information session will provide an overview of BArT's college preparatory arts and technology curriculum, enrollment process, special education services, and BArT's unique role in Berkshire County.
  • BArT is a free public charter school educating middle and high school students in grades 6-12.
  • BArT offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes and dual enrollment with local colleges.
  • BArT provides free breakfast, lunch, and transportation.
  • BArT has competitive cross country, soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball teams.
  • BArT seniors complete a college course and do a work-based learning experience.
