LEE, Mass. — Running back William Thomson scored four touchdowns for the Lee High School football team, as it went on to beat Hoosac Valley on Friday, 35-0.
The Wildcats led the entire way behind Thomson's 26 total points, including a successful two-point conversion. Lee RB Zavien Siok scored the only other touchdown made in the game.
Both the team and Thomson's first touchdown came with 8:30 left in the first quarter. He would score again near the end of the quarter, bringing the score to 16-0 after two successful two-point conversions.
Hoosac Valley got within ten yards of the goal line with just over eight minutes left in the second quarter, the closest the team would get to scoring the entire game. Lee forced a fumble, however, returning the ball on the subsequent drive for the team's third touchdown, scored by Siok.
Thomson's third touchdown came with just 24 seconds left in the first half, after facing significant defensive pressure throughout the quarter. Going into halftime, the score was 28-0.
Thomson scored again early in the third quarter, with neither team scoring for the remainder of the game. After a successful field goal kick, the score stood at 35-0 until the fourth-quarter buzzer.
With the win, Lee's record improves to 5-2, with just one game remaining in the season. They will play Belchertown at home at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28.
With the loss, Hoosac Valley's record falls to 2-5, with the team's final home game against Commerce at 1 p.m. on Oct. 29.
