DALTON, Mass. -- The Wahconah football team Friday earned its fifth victory with a 57-25 win over South Hadley.

Wahconan’s tremendous passing offense was on display once again. Quarterback Will Geneway torched the Tigers defense throwing for four touchdowns through the air.

Tigers’ quarterback Mike Pratt also had a good night, throwing for three touchdowns, but South Hadley fell behind late and never saw the lead in this game.

Wahconah got on the board early scoring a touchdown in the first two minutes of the game. South Hadley was able to answer back on their first drive with a 43-yard touchdown pass from Pratt to Marcus Larrier to make it 7-7.

Wahconah answered this South Hadley drive with three unanswered touchdowns. The first was a 5-yard rush by Tanner Hastings, and the next two were passing touchdowns from Geneway. The first was a 43 yard pass to Connor Washburn and the second was a 15-yard pass to Wyatt Schleicher. This ended the first half with Wahconah ahead, 29-7.

South Hadley opened the second half strong scoring two straight touchdowns. The first was on 5-yard touchdown pass from Pratt to Jack Dawson and the second was a 80-yard fumble recovery that Ted Doyle returned for a touchdown to make it 29-19.

Wahconah answered back on their next drive with another passing touchdown from the familiar Geneway, Washurn touchdown hookup. South Hadley was able to score another Pratt passing touchdown this time Jaden Beauchamp was on the receiving end.

In the fourth quarter, Wahconah played tough defense, not allowing another score, while scoring twice. Geneway found Washburn once again for a 50-yard passing touchdown and Nate Zink had a 20-yard rushing touchdown to cap the game.

The Warriors (5-1) take on Taconic at home on Friday.

The Tigers host Pittsfield next week.
