NORTHFIELD, Mass. -- Nate Stump threw for 180 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Drury High School football team to a 42-18 win over Pioneer Valley in last weekend's inter-league "crossover" game for schools not qualifying for the Western Massachusetts playoffs.
The Blue Devils (2-6) will look to cap their season with a pair of wins on Saturday when they host Cathedral at 1 p.m. on John J. Del Negro Field.
Saturday's game has been declared "fan appreciation" day by the Drury High School athletics department, which is offering free admission to the contest.
Last week, Justice Marable was on the receiving end of two Stump TD throws. Kody Crosier, Justin Girard and Brendan Faas each caught a touchdown, and Crosier led the team with 63 receiving yards.
Girard also caught a pass from the other team. He and David Lewis each had an interception for Drury, which bounced back from a six-game losing streak and a disappointing showing in its rivalry game against Hoosac Valley two weeks before.
Faas ran for 46 yards, and Marquise Hamilton had 29 yards on the ground. Crosier carried the ball once, going 10 yards for a touchdown.
