PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Lee High School defense was dominant in its 30-6 win over Taconic on Saturday afternoon, allowing only one touchdown in fourth quarter.
Lee’s Jordan LePrevost opened the scoring in the first quarter after taking the opening kickoff. Lee went for the 2-point conversion; completing it to put them ahead 8-0.
“We really stressed all week that we had to win this one on the line of scrimmage,” Lee coach Keith Thompson said. “Both our offensive lines and defensive lines were key today.”
Thompson’s team had it all. Its defense shut everything down, and the offense executed nearly every play.
Lee’s Adam Finnegan rushed for 79 yards and scored a touchdown.
Taconic’s touchdown came late in the fourth quarter on a 13-yard run by Jake McNeice. Taconic attempted the 2-point conversion, but Lee’s defense quickly stopped it.
“This was a huge win,” Lee quarterback Cam Abderhalden said. “We came in knowing we had to win and that’s what we did.”
Lee takes on Wahconah next week, and Taconic will host Drury Saturday afternoon.
