LEE, Mass. -- Anike Helmke scored 17 points to lead the Monument Mountain girls basketball team to a 54-40 win over Lee on Tuesday night.

 

Vanessa Troiano scored 13 for the Spartans -- all in the first half to help Monument take a 34-15 lead into the locker-room

 

Monument stretched its lead to 23 points by the end of the third quarter before Lee, on the strength of nine points from game-high scorer Alyssa Kelly, outscored the visitors by a margin of 19-10.

 

Addie McLoughlin chipped in with nine points for Monument (5-2), which travels to Mount Everett on Friday.

 

Lee (0-7) hosts Wahconah on Friday.
