ORANGE, Mass. – Irati Martinez scored 20 points Wednesday to lead the Mahar girls basketball team to a 46-36 win over Lee.
Kenzie Garrity scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats, who fell behind by 14 points after a 20-5 second quarter for the Senators.
“Tough first half,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “We couldn’t make a shot.
“Played a little bit better in the second half but too many defensive breakdowns to make a comeback.”
Mia Puleri scored eight, and Mika Diller added six for Lee.
The Wildcats (11-9) learn Saturday against whom they will open play in next week’s state tournament.
