NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Jacinta Felix scored 23 points Tuesday to lead the Drury girls basketball team to a 69-20 win over Mount Greylock.
Brooke Bishop scored 12, and 11 different Blue Devils put a mark in the scorebook.
“The best part was a lot of our younger girls got into the game,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “And I credit our starters and role players for setting the tone the whole game, which in turn gave me the opportunity to play our younger kids. Elise Daly (freshman), Keira Vidal (eighth grade) & Ella Bond (seventh grade) all scored their first varsity points. Lily Mirante (eighth grade) and Addisyn Sheppard (eighth grade) were able to step on a varsity court for the first time. It was awesome to see how excited the bench was for all of them.”
Mount Greylock was led by Phoebe Barnes with seven points and Kate Shelsey with six.
“I should note that the Mount Greylock team that we played tonight will not be the same team we play when we go to their place,” Downey said. “They were missing four key players. That being said you have to compete no matter who you play and I thought we put 32 minutes together.”
Drury (2-1) will host Wahconah next Thursday, Dec. 28.
Mount Greylock (2-3) hosts Pope Francis this Thursday.
