LEE, Mass. – Emma Goewey scored 23 points Wednesday to lead the Mount Everett girls basketball team to a 40-28 win over Lee.
The game was tied at half-time before Goewey scored six points in a 13-7 third quarter for the Eagles.
“Goewey’s size was a lot to handle for us,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “She got some putbacks in the second half. We had too many turnovers, and they got some separation.”
Emily Steuernagle scored six points, and Makayla Carpenter and Maggy Sarnacki added four apiece in the win.
Taylor Salice scored nine points to lead Lee, which got eight from Mia Puleri and seven from Kenzie Garrity.
The Wildcats (0-3) are off until Dec. 29 when they head to Mohawk Trail.
Mount Everett (3-2) hosts Easthampton on Dec. 29.
