WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Taylor Garabedian scored 25 points Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 52-40 win over Mount Greylock.
The Hurricanes jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter, but the Mounties battled back to make a game of it from there.
Garabedian helped put the game away by scoring 21 of her points in the second half, including 6-of-6 foul shooting; she shot 8-for-8 from the line in the game.
Ashlyn Lesure scored seven points, and Gabby Billetz added six in the win.
Charlotte Coody scored 18 points to lead Mount Greylock, which got six points from Molly Sullivan.
The Mounties (4-10) go to Belchertown on Tuesday.
Hoosac Valley (10-4), which qualified for the state tournament with the win, hosts Granby on Tuesday.
