LEE, Mass. – Caroline Maloney drained 11 3-pointers and scored 46 points Tuesday to lead the Lee girls basketball team to a 67-53 win over Douglas in the Sweet 16 of the Division 5 State Tournament.
Maloney, who leads the Wildcats in points, got a quarter of her 44 triples for the season in one night as Lee improved to 18-5.
Mia Puleri scored six, and Emma Puleri scored seven in her first game back after missing a few contests with an injury.
Sixth-seeded Lee moves on to face No. 3 Hopedale in the state quarter-finals. Hopedale Tuesday defeated David Prouty, 69-40.
