SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Caroline Maloney scored 16 points Sunday to lead the Lee girls basketball team to a 39-25 win over Pope Francis.
“Our defense held up well on the road and we had a good day at the free throw line,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “Caroline picked us up on offense today when we struggled to find a rhythm.”
Maloney was 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. As a team, Lee shot 12-for-16 at the line.
Carina Brown scored 10 points, and Emma Puleri added seven in the win.
Lee (6-3) hosts Lee on Tuesday.
