NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Izzy LaCasse scored eight of her 20 points in the third quarter Monday as the McCann Tech girls basketball team came back from a 33-17 half-time deficit to earn a 51-46 win over Turners Falls.
The Hornets (9-5) scored just five points in the first quarter, falling behind by 10 points.
“We allowed ourselves to get into a big hole,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “We were very flat on offense and did not to a good job on the boards. This allowed them to fast break and get layups.
:We were down by 16 at halftime and we discussed our focus and execution. A couple of tweaks and we dug our way out of that hole and won. Izzy LaCasse was a spark we needed tonight. Aubrey Tetlow really stepped up and many girls did some nice things to cause them to turn the ball over.”
Tetlow scored 14 points, and Grace Towler had 13 in the win.
McCann Tech goes for its 10th win at home on Thursday night when it hosts Southwick. Earlier this month, the Hornets edged the Rams, 45-39, on the road.
