NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Grace Towler scored 17 points, and the McCann Tech girls basketball team held visiting Pope Francis to 28 points through three quarters en route to its fourth straight win, 53-44.
“Tonight our strong defense led to a solid offense,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “Defensively, Hannah Stack was solid by creating turnovers that led to points for us. Kaylee Tatro had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
“Aubrey Tetlow set a tone for the game in the first quarter. Grace Towler did a nice job of running the court to finish the fast break. Nichole Demastrie had a nice two-pointer in the third to help spark a 16-9 third quarter advantage.”
Kaylee Tatro and Tetlow each scored 11 for the Hornets (5-1).
