CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Alie Mendel scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in a pivotal second quarter as the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team earned a 76-26 win over Lee on Friday night.
The Hurricanes led by just six, 16-10, after one quarter. But in the second, they outscored the Wildcats by a margin of 24-6; Mendel had four field goals in the period.
Averie McGrath and Riley Robinson also finished in double figures with 15 and 10, respectively, in the win.
Carly McElroy, Lena Simone and Emma Puleri each scored four to lead Lee.
The Wildcats (3-4) host Taconic on Tuesday.
Hoosac Valley (6-1) hosts Mount Greylock on Monday.
