CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Riley Robinson scored 19 points, and the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team outscored Pittsfield, 20-12, down the stretch to earn a 67-55 win and a season-sweep of the Generals on Thursday night.
Alie Mendel scored 17, and Lexi Mercier and Sarah Field added 13 and 12, respectively, as the Hurricanes won their third straight, improved to 16-1 and celebrated Senior Night.
Bella Aitken scored a game-high 21, and Taea Bramer added 12 for Pittsfield (10-5).
Prior to the game, the Hurricanes were recognized by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association with its Educational Athletics Achievement Award for the team's effots to host an annual Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Showecase.
The five-time defending Western Mass Champion Hurricanes play their final Berkshire County North Division league game on Monday at Monument Mountain.
