CHESHIRE, Mass. -- The Granby girls basketball team Saturday opened the second half on a 9-0 run to open a 31-13 lead and never looked back en route to a 47-31 win over Mount Greylock at the Coaches Vs. Cancer Showcase at Hoosac Valley High School.
Nora Young scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Rams.
Mount Greylock (2-7) led early thanks to an Emma Stevens 3-pointer anda a long 2 from Maddie Albert to close the first quarter.
Albert's bucket gave the Mounties an 8-5 lead, their last of the game.
Granby took over the lead with a 10-0 spurt to start the second quarter.
Young got things started with a bucket, and a Kaeleigh Croteau triple gave Granby a 10-8 edge.
Croteau (13 points) then hit another triple, and Young connected from just inside the arc to make it 15-8.
Mount Greylock got 10 points from Lauren Howard and nine from Stevens.
Delaney Babcock scored four and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds for the Mounties, who go to Mount Everett on Tuesday.
