DALTON, Mass. -- Alie Mendel scored nine of her 11 points in a pivotal third quarter Tuesday as the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team came back for a 52-33 win over Wahconah.
Wahconah led, 17-16, at half-time, but Hoosac Valley outscored its hosts by a margin of 23-6 in the third to take control of the game.
Lexi Mercier hit five 3-pointers on the way to an 18-point night to lead all scorers, and her teammate Kailynne Frederick added 13.
For Wahconah, Ashley Zink led the way with 12 points, and Lily Pudlo added seven.
Hoosac Valley (14-1) hosts Taconic on Thursday, when Wahconah (8-8) hosts Pittsfield.
