WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Jenna Benzinger and Lauren Howard each scored 17 points Saturday night to lead the Mount Greylock girls basketball team to its 10th win of the season, a 58-50 victory over Westfield.
The Mounties (10-4) held the Bombers to four points in the fourth quarter to snap a two-game losing streak and qualify for the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
“Jenna and Lauren had good games, but Sarah Stripp shut out their leading scorer in the fourth quarter, and Brook Masse had six big fourth-quarter points,” Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said. “Maddie Albert’s 12 points were all huge tonight. So, overall, it was a great team effort.”
Mount Greylock comes home Tuesday to face Taconic.
