CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Fallon Field went 6-for-7 at the foul line during a 24-7 second quarter that gave the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team control of Friday night's game against Auburn.
The Hurricanes, who led by 14 at half-time, never looked back in a 66-43 win in the opener of their holiday tournament.
Field finished with 21 points to lead the way for Hoosac (2-0), which also got 14 from Madi Ryan.
Lexi Mercier and Alie Mendel finished with nine and eight, respectively.
Hoosac plays in this evening's championship game against South Hadley, which beat Monument Mountain in Friday night's other game.
